CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!
June 28, 2008: Sam's Club, Plymouth, MA
- We are looking for at least 2 volunteers to sell military appreciation bears and SKIP t-shirts while giving out information about the organization from 3:30pm - 6:30pm. For more details please Email Tracy: tracy@specialkindness.org

July 4, 2008: 4th of July Parade - join us in the Bridgewater, MA 4th of July parade at 10AM. This is YOUR chance to be IN a parade representing an organization that you love, we love, and everyone should love!
Details:
Arrival time: 8:30AM
Drop-off Location: Kelly Gym parking lot, 34 Park Avenue, Bridgewater, MA 02324 | driving directions
Parking: Commuter parking lot off Burrill Avenue (no exceptions)
Start Time: 10AM

August 9, 2008: Bowling Party
From 5pm until 7pm we'll be hosting our first bowling party at Timber Lanes in Abington, MA. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will be available online soon. Cost is only $10 per person ($5 is tax deductible) and that will cover unlimited bowling, shoes, pizza, and beverages (provided by SKIP). Space is limited, so please get your tickets today!

Some Pretty Cool Past Events

SKIP Packing Nights
- Throughout the year, every year, volunteers from the South Shore area in Massachusetts team up several times to prepare the care packages for shipment. Young in age or young at heart, there's something for everyone to help. So, the next time you hear of a SKIP packing night (or day) please come down and lend a hand!

2nd Annual SKIP Benefit Dinner
We celebrated the U.S. Military throughout the years with great food and plenty of raffles on May 31, 2008 during the 2nd Annual SKIP Benefit Dinner. Two guest speakers told their personal stories about the military impacting their lives. WWII veteran Mr. Newell told about his experience in the military and 8th grade student Shawna Mykes told how military deployments have affected her life when her uncle and father were both deployed to Iraq. Funds raised that night and from efforts leading up to the dinner exceeded $2,000!

Guest Bartender Night
- The Rusty Nail Tavern in Clifton Park, New York hosted a fundraiser in support of America's Heroes on May 21, 2008. Approximately $1,000 was donated to Special Kindness In Packages following the event.

Boots In Bars Benefit Show
- April 4, 2008 marked the first ever SKIP benefit show at Peddler's Loft in Raynham, MA. The event featured local bands VMF and Haywire Davinci, and WCTK 98.1 FM Afternnon Host Robby Bridges was the emcee. Also in attendance were the Patriots Cheerleaders and "Jager Girls". Volunteers Pam Rinkaus, Jennifer Witt, and Skip Spoerke organized the event and declared it's success by raising more than $1,700 for the organization that night.

City of Brockton Holiday Parade
- On November 24, 2007 SKIP volunteers marched in the parade and handed out candy and brochures. The Brockton Girl Scouts and Special Kindness In Packages also teamed together to receive donations at the Brockton, MA Holiday Bazaar. Mayor Jim Harrington, The Brockton Rox baseball team, Cub Scouts, and many other people visited the booths to make financial and supply donations. They also had the opportunity to write Christmas cards to the troops, which were included in the following day's care package packing party.

Support the Troops Holiday Drive
- November 4 - 11, 2007 Special Kindness In Packages teamed up with numerous area businesses and other organizations to raise funds and supplies to fill enough care packages to support 1,642 deployed military members this holiday season.

The Hanson Historical Society Sale
- September 15, 2007

July 4th Celebration 2007
- July 4, 2007 was the first time Special Kindness In Packages set up a booth in Bridgewater for the town's annual celebration.

SKIP Benefit Dinner 2007
- Our first annual benefit dinner was held at the Commercial Club in East Bridgewater on May 11, 2007. The event was sold out well in advance. Those present were the first to learn of the Special Kindness In Packages office in California, which was organized by Jenae Welch.

Community Home-Stand at Fenway Park
- Through the support of New England's favorite Major League Baseball team, the Red Sox, Special Kindness In Packages has appeared at Fenway Park's Community Home-Stand.

Memorial Day Parade 2007
- For the last three years Special Kindness In Packages has volunteered its service to help the First Congregational Church in Hanson, MA honor the fallen. Following the parade a short service was held to pay respects to those who gave their lives for our freedom from surrounding communities. The church bell sounded one tone for each of the fallen.

Rockland Trust SKIP Drive
- Throughout the month of May 2007 Rockland Trust hosted a supply drive for Special kindness In Packages. The results were amazing as trucks were required to pick-up the donations from their main branch in Rockland, MA.

Teddy Bear Fundraiser
- Thanks to everyone who came out to the Shaw's on South Main Street in Brockton, MA on April 7, 2007 for all of your support and dedication to the troops and Special Kindness In Packages. Through your support we were able to raise enough funds to ship another 350 pounds of supplies, and enough supplies to fill several care packages!

Veterans Day Ceremony 2006
- The city of Brockton, MA honors our veterans every year on Veterans Day with a parade. Skip was given an opportunity to speak on behalf of Special Kindness In Packages at the ceremony following. Since then we have received a great amount of support from the city officials of Brockton, community residents, and several others who simply wish to support the troops.

Operation Community Pride: Phase One
- On October 29, 2006 Special Kindness In Packages and numerous volunteers helped beautify the city of Brockton, MA through cleaning two veterans' parks and a war memorial.

Homefront Hero Rally at the Rock 2006
- Hosted by HomeFrontHero.org
Special Kindness was a featured hero group during this event and was represented by the Special Kindness In Packages, Inc board of directors and several volunteers.

Memorial Day Parade 2006
- The town of Hanson, MA honors our fallen heroes every year on Memorial Day with a parade of floats, bands, and military reenactment groups. S.K.I.P. helped honor those heroes while marching with the First Congregational Church float, which carried numerous currently serving and retired military members in dress uniform kneeling behind crosses, representing their brothers and sisters in arms who died fighting for our freedom.

- Hosted by HomeFrontHero.org Special Kindness In Packages was represented by several volunteers.

Memorial Day Parade 2005
- Special Kindness In Packages honors America's Heroes with a float design for the First Congregational Church of Hanson, MA.

Special Kindness In Packages Fundraising Sale 2005
- Held at the First Congregational Church in Hanson, MA we organized our first fundraising event and were able to raise enough funds to continue supporting the troops for several more months.
